The sun is out, the temperature is in the 40s close to 60, and the snow is melting quickly as good as gone already. As a finale, here’s a couple of snow-persons. This one is very well placed, to give this old Datsun 2WD truck some useful weight in the back. The other is a bit less useful…
But a lot more attractive. Isn’t she lovely? I hate to think of her melting away right now… And guess who made her? A couple of girls.
She needs some strategically placed red hots and hershey’s kisses, and maybe some gummi snakes for hair
here’s a real snow tragedy! lol
Too funny!
Calvin and Hobbes in real life.
Back in the 90’s when me and two buddies made our yearly trek to Mammoth, one time we made an anatomically correct snowwoman. The young couple passing by thought it was hilarious. The severely overweight, sour-faced, middle aged woman who followed after them did not.
A bit off topic, but man, is it weird to see all that snow and trees with bright green leaves!
+1 , the green trees and snow doesn’t process well in my Canadian brain
Those are Rhododendrons they don’t lose their leaves in the winter, thus remain green in the winter… there are many plants that stay green year round!
And the grass stays green all winter too! In fact, in some ways it’s greener here in the winter than the summer, since the grass, meadows, fields, etc all go dormant in the long dry summer, turning golden brown. It’s technically a Mediterranean Climate: dry warm summers; green wet winters.
For Ice Carnival at Clarkson College in the early 80s, wmy fraternity made a sailing ship as our entry in tbe ice sculpture competition. The fun part was the figurehead, who was, um, buxom. Somewhere I’ve got a great picture of the shyest kid in the house gently, er, cradling said buxomness with a total SEG on his face. Probably would have been good blackmail material for a while…
It’s nice to see folks who rarely experience the enjoyment of a fresh, heavy snowfall, take pleasure in it.
In my part of the continent, it’s often mostly the children (and snow enthusiasts) that love to see that snow. While others view it with regret. haha
I’m sure many adults as much as the kids, found pleasure in seeing this beauty, this past week.
Sorry to break to another subject but the CC effect struck in reverse. Just saw a king cab 720 with a diesel about two days ago. Guy loves it and loves bragging about it’s mileage.
