A lot of Volvos in the Autotron lot on September 28. Rows and rows of classic Volvo cars, neatly arranged. Well, you can see for yourself. Many will look familiar, some of them won’t.
There. Articles and pictures featuring individual Volvos will follow in the forseeable future.
I never tire of admiring the beauty of the P544.
Absolute king of African safaris from the 60’s.
Sure are a lot of Volvos! 🙂
And one lonely but daring Saab! (Beside the yellow T5’s)
Good eye! Saabs were also welcome, but I spotted only a few of them. It was a Volvo fest all the way.
That’s interesting. In my neck of the woods, at events where Volvos and Saabs are invited to the same events, it has become common to see more Saabs than Volvos.
I imagine with Saabs becoming more and more scarce, their owners become even more dedicated.
Here you go guys, ‘Volvo Klassiekerbeurs’:

Thanks, I did see a couple of small ones that I have not seen on roads in America. Noe of these – as attached?
Almost certainly not. Only 500 of the PV36 series were built between 1935 and 1938.
Volvo did not begin exporting passenger cars to countries outside Scandinavia until 1955. The first PV 444 was unloaded in August 1955 at a port in Long Beach, California.
Right, I didn’t see anything older than the PV444.
Impressive numbers there. And not a single person in any shot. How does that happen at a car show?
Most of them were inside the Autotron’s main building. The Volvos were all lined up in what usually is the parking lot for visitors of the shows and events held there.
No 262 or 780 bertones…!!!??? I owned three here in the usa…
On the contrary.
Designers of these pop-up lights on these ‘480’ coupés could not imagine that in 38 years the headlights could be as thin as the parking lights below on these .

Very nice. I hope there was a C30 there somewhere 🙂
The 480 outnumbered the C30…
Maybe the C30 is still too young, though there were some recent and current models in the lot.
Wow! And as tidy and orderly arranged as the design of the cars themselves. Our ’02 S80 sedan probably would have belonged in the last pic. We got 10 years and 160K out of it. Very nice car.
Thanks for sharing.
So many Volvos ! .
I too love the looks of the PV544 .
My lone Volvo was a 1970 144S, a very competent car indeed but boring as could be .

Wow!! More old Volvo’s (122 and 544) than you’d see in the parking lot at the Natural Foods Co-op in Berkeley when I was growing up.
…’the parking lot at the Natural Foods Co-op in Berkeley’…that certainly sounds like typical Volvo territory!
Well – The car for people who think.”
The Natural Foods Co-op is long gone, but the parking lot of its 2024 equivalent is full of Tesla’s, Priuses and electric cargo bikes.
