While no one precisely identified the BMW 8-Series, JustPassinThru came closest with his guess of “I keep thinking the nostrils of an early BMW….” Well done, you win the (non-Plymouth) acclaim of your fellow CCers!
Tomorrow’s CC was found right in downtown Rock Island, just a block from the Mississippi. Boat season is just about over, but there are still a few around. Maybe even four-wheeled ones.
Centennial Bridge?
Oh, the car.. No idea. There is a lot of silver-grey in that shot..
Early 80’s Oldsmobile 98.
Wild stab…Avanti?
I don’t think it’s an Avanti as mentioned up above, but some kind of GM mobile though, probably from either the late 70’s, or the 80’s, and a back door at that, sans vinyl roof.
And that it’s green. 🙂
Looks like an early to mid 90s Cadillac DeVille. or Fleetwood.
I want to go Caddy too but it’s odd to not have “Drip” rails or a Vinyl top.
I’m thinking it might be around a 1971 or 72 Pontiac Catalina…
I wasnt going to say anything, but I think you hit it on the head Richard, I thought exactly the same thing.
Isn’t the roof above the door line rather tall for an American mass-production passenger car? Indeed, that seems too tall for a typical post-50s truck or SUV. Perhaps it’s a Popemobile.
Either that or a 1961 Rambler Ambassador.
Is that what this is a picture of? I thought it was the back end, and you can barely make out a small part of the back window.
If ths is the roof, then I do see that the chrome area s the rear doorframe. This doesn’t make sense though, because it looks like a formal roofline that should be slathered in elk-grain vinyl.
Very confusing…
I’m thinking this is a pickup truck, probably a crew cab, but I can’t place the trim and color, and it looks “cleaner” than most 1960s-1980s pickups I know of.
Ok, I’ll throw a wild guess out there: Ford F700.
It reminds me of a Honda Ridgeline, but that hasn’t been around long enough to be a Classic.
