Sean got the ’73 Omega and Stanislav got the Lada Niva pickup. It seems that obscure versions of the Nova and seldom-seen Russian pick ’em ups are no match for the Commentariat. Well done gentlemen!
Some of the Clues have been rather generous lately. I’m not sure if this one is or isn’t. I guess I’ll find out though, depending on how fast it gets identified. What is it?
1993-1997 Nissan Altima
beat me to it!
Was that the one where the TV ad had the car on a rotisserie so they could roll a ball bearing along the panel gaps?
I believe so… and I think Nissan copied the idea from a Lexus ES ad.
It’s a sedan.
OK, I think it’s a Nissan Altima. Color looks Nissan-ish and the curve of the door looks like a Nissan-style curve.
It looks like a ’98-’02 Altima or ’95-’99 Sentra but the panel gaps look too large and something else looks off, but I can’t put my finger on it.
Whatever it is, it looks like there’s some Bondo in the C pillar. The continuation of the fender line into the pillar appears ‘off.’
EDIT – And also some poor masking of the chrome window strip for the repaint?
I was going to go with that era of Nissan Maxima initially but I think the Altima is more likely.
1996 Hyundai Elantra
I’m leaning that way too.
I also have to go with an early Altima, too.
It’s definitely not a first gen Altima or, as I’d guessed, a B14 Sentra. Both those cars have a much thicker portion of metal surrounding the window frames. The ’98 Altima still had wrap around window frames but more slender.
It’s a ’98-’01 Altima.
You may be right… but to me, the C pillar doesn’t look thick enough to be a second-gen car.
