This CC was a little salt-encrusted, but I still think someone will be able to identify it. The only hint you’re going to get is that the wheel is indeed factory-installed.

1992 Audi 100
w140?
Lexus? Audi?
Winner winner chicken dinner!
Late 90s Mercedes CL500/600 Coupe
1990-94 Nissan Sentra SE-R
Plymouth Volare
Chrysler Sebring
+1
I thought of these wheels too, but the bumper line doesn’t look right.
I feel like a broken record here……
No pictures please!!!!
Make your guess and leave it at that. Adding pics ruins it for those who haven’t guessed yet.
Thanks.
I understand if I was putting a picture up of my guess, or was right, but I showed a picture of what I thought it wasn’t, adding to the discussion, and maybe helping people continue along to guess what it actually is as opposed to put more guesses in the wrong column. Besides, we’re online, it’s kind of an open note test…
You may want to post that admonishment with the original clue.
Lexus LS400 with the factory AMG-esque wheels
I would think that too, but these wheels are painted grey while the Lexus wheels you speak were polished (at least all the ones that I see).
I’ve crawled all over the internet, but I can’t find a pic of the wheel I’m thinking of. They had a very AMG monoblock look, with a lip like this, the ones I’m thinking of are silver, but they looked smaller on the LS400. If the CC car is just some Benz I’m going to be disappointed.
This?

Not those. The ones I’m thinking of had a dished look, with a lip, and were always painted.

The ’92-’96 ES had something like that.
2000-ish Mercedes S500
Late 90s Mercedes E-Series.
Dodge Avenger or possibly Chrysler Sebring Coupe – the one that died around 2006 and shared a platform with the Mitsubishi Eclipse
It’s an Audi B3.
Eagle Vision???
Without a doubt this is a Frimbo XS240SS with the optional Gonzaga package and the enjazzeriser. This is a rare and desirable package.
Rare, yes. Desirable, not so much. The Gonzaga package was hastily replaced during a manufacturer’s recall. This was after owners from around the country complained that their car’s road wheels were veritable magnets for dogs, who for inexplicable reasons just loved to use them as urinals.
Imagine driving your brand-new Frimbo for the first time and proudly parking it in your driveway. You go inside but every once in a while look through your home’s front window to see if any neighbors are admiring your new car. Instead — to your horror — you witness a pack of dogs descending upon your Frimbo. Like moths to a flame, all day and night they come by to water your wheels.
This causes so much commotion that neighbors complain to the police. So you must hide your Frimbo in the garage until the moment you are ready to leave. But even then the dogs chase you down the road like one of those old Nash ads.
Can you imagine the pain and hardship experienced by all the fragile male egos that went deep into debt in order to drive a Frimbo? Instead of becoming the stud muffin of the neighborhood they are mercilessly ridiculed.
Thus I must respectfully inquire: How on earth do you think Frimbo can maintain its branding as “The Ultimate Package Stuffer” with a p.r. disaster like this?
Brilliant, just brilliant! 😀
Dr Lemming, our in-house Ambassador for AMC!! Hahaha!
I’d have to say Mercedes of some type with that AMG Hammer style wheel and grey cladding, but not sure beyond that. Based on the size of the grey plastic shown I’ll also guess W140, I think they could be had with that type of alloy.
Merceds SL – 4th gen.
Saab 900
1997 Mercedes S500
2nd gen Audi 5000?
Audi 90 Coupe
saab 900 classic
I’ll add Saab 900 SPG to this and fastback’s guesses…
Saab 9 3 Viggen
Loads of good possibilities above! But I’ll stick with my first instinct: a mid-late 80s 300E Mercedes
