The gen 3 Sable antenna base was correctly guessed in the second comment, by Frank. I wouldn’t have had a clue if I was trying to guess that. Here’s what seems to be happening more and more: as our readership grows, there’s at least one (or more) of you out there who is intimately familiar with every detail of any given car. Like the little piece of trim on the ’65 Sports Fury that tiredoldmechanic had replaced on his ’65 Sports Fury. It’s a bit scary, and it means we have to work harder than ever to stump you. I suspect I probably haven’t worked hard enough with this.
CC Clue: It’s Getting Harder And Harder To Stump You

Next time just post a plain white blank pic and tell everyone to guess what car it is. That’ll show all these smart asses!!!!
Okay everyone, here’s our next CC Clue. What car is it…???
That is a 1998 Saturn SC2 in Pearl White, in a Wisconsin blizzard. I know because my wife had this car and drove it in blizzard conditions in Wisconsin now and then, and it looked just like that.
Either that or it’s a polar bear driving a white Unimog.
Lol! +1!
US Postal van.
A 1989 S-10 BAJA. I’d know that shade of GMs aluminum siding chalky white anywhere!
Ooooh – It’s a Camry!
I’m going to say it’s a 1981 Buick Skylark.
I hope it is, because I will probably be the only one to come to it’s defense.
To be continued…
Dang! I think you hit it.
84 Chrysler LeBaron
Ditto on the Skylark.
Well, I know for sure it’s not a ’65 Plymouth Sport Fury…..
Early to mid eighties Buick of some sort … which sort? Well …. 🙁
Either this car has a serious case of panel-gapitis, or that’s a truck topper.
The headlight trim is screaming 80s B body Buick but the Grille is saying early 80s Mercury G-Marquis.
80-85 LeSabre?
To be fair, I may have dropped the ball on the Sable CC clue. All anyone had to do was click my profile to see an avatar of my car – it was a dead giveaway.
The antenna was a dead give away (few cars have a mount that large and ugly).
I originally had my answer as a Taurus from the same year until I took the pin stripe into account – I don’t remember the Taurus having a pin stripe so I changed my answer to the Sable.
I don’t know if anyone else guessing on these clues does the same thing, but once a photo is posted I try to get an idea as to what I’m looking at and then scour the internet for pictures to validate including looking at old brochures.
Excellent sleuthing skills, sir. I couldn’t have done it better myself.
Guess that explains why I was convinced the Peugeot from last week was a Hyundai Elantra….lol That’s why I love these picture clues – most of the time I look at the clue and say “WTF” trying to figure out what car is being shown.
When I guess on the clues, I post what I think it is then I google my guess to see how close I came. Wouldn’t be any fun (for me anyways) if I checked first.
I’ve gotten a couple, but missed a few more by a year, or the wrong model etc. It is indeed amazing how someone almost always nails it despite the most obscure clues.
I enjoy this series and appreciate the effort that must go into trying to find and photograph the next clue.
The Taurus did have a pin stripe on the slightly-nicer-than-base versions. Mine had a stripe.
I try to get an idea as to what I’m looking at, and then realise it’s likely something exclusively US, that I’ve never ever seen.
1980 Pontiac Sunbird.
I’m thinking the smaller 83-86 Mercury Marquis here.
Ford Fairmont
Grille with forward cant…screams1980 Monte. But headlamp bezel setback screams Buick. Maybe the 77-80 Malibu did it this way? No, headlights also were canted forward on the Chevys…
This is a 1981 Skylark-The angle of the cam is making the grill look canted. I should have recognized this right away, as I owned one of these loathsome POS for 5 long years.
