It would seem that the Clues have been getting tougher for the CC Commentariat, as Ed’s VW Golf went unidentified. Perhaps a bit too new for many of our resident motorheads? Well you’re in luck, as our next CC is not from the Nineties or Oughts.
Tomorrow’s CC was a major find for me, as it had a pivotal role in my early automotive infatuation. What is it?
Looks like an early 1980s K-body New Yorker?
1980 (ish) Pontiac Bonneville.

A 1986 Pontiac Parisienne.
I rented one for two weeks in December 1985.
1979 Bonneville.

I may be getting better at these. My first reaction to the picture was “Late ’70s/Early ’80s Pontiac B-body”. If the earlier responses are any indication, I may be at least close….
I too thought 77+ rwd B Body Pontiac at first glance. Since everyone above is guessing Bonneville, I’ll say Catalina.
Box panther.
’78 Merc Monarch
79-80 Dodge St Regis.

1977 Bonneville coupe.
Oh, my. Behold the elegant cut of that rear fender as it lovingly folds into the classic roofline.
There’s only one car this could be — Ed Anderson’s finest design ever! The 1961 Rambler Ambassador.
Wouldn’t you know it? AMC always came out with its most iconic designs when it had extra cash to spend.
