The Beretta threw a lot of guessers off with its whitewalls, but Rob Finfrock was able to identify it with his guess of a “1994-1996 Chevy Beretta.” Congratulations.
Remember yellow cars? Yes, I know most sporty 2012-model Miatas, Mustangs and Challengers can be had in an appropriately bright shade, but does anyone remember when more prosaic cars could be painted this color? An example of those more subdued yellow-hued cars is all ready for tomorrow morning, but first, what is it?
Volvo 240 is my guess. But seems a bit common for our CC paparazzi.
The Swedish Brick, still a great CC even though it is fairly common
I agree. I believe ’79 and on had that rear end. I’m gonna guess ’84 260 (264).
88-92 Eagle Premier
2nd guess (is that allowed?)
89-91 Chrysler TC by Maserati
Yellow? Someone say “yellow”? See avatar, please! Wifey had the same car, same color, too – before I met her. Yes, I remember yellow cars very well.
’67 full-size Chevy. (I don’t think the proportions of the trunklid of whatever this is are quite right for those smaller cars, and the color is reminiscent of that time, to me at least.)
I’ll go for ’66 full-size Chevy. However it could also be the rear of some full-size Chrysler C-body 1969-73 “Fuselage”.
1974 Valiant
’71 Galaxie.
1977 Dodge Diplomat
I also think it’s a ’67 Chevy full size. But I’m late to the party.
Yes, I can remember yellow cars. Other colors as well.
66 Impala or Caprice……..
It’s not a ’67 Chevy — we had a Bel Air and there’s not enough curvature in the top of the quarter panel. Plus the yellow used at the time was closer to Zackman’s avatar.
It could be a Volvo 240 around 1983 when they offered that soft beige-yellow color — I see part of the U-shaped indentation in the trunk lid, and the location of the body side molding is about right.
But shouldn’t the model nameplate be visible on the trunk lid (“DL” etc.)?
Then again, we know Tom is a big Volvo fan!
’72 Fury?
Whatever it is, it looks like its lived a relatively accident/rust free life. That paint still has a little shine to it. I’m going with Datsun 310GX this time.
Ok, this is officially my last time saying that. The Datsun guesses are hereby officially retired because the joke is getting old.
1982-1989 Dodge Diplomat/Plymouth Gran Fury/Chrysler Fifth Avenue (effectively the same M-Body car).
I think that lid is at least a foot too short to be a full-size 60s-70s anything. Edges aren’t quite sharp enough for an 80s design…? That little bit of trim on the right makes me lean Volvo as well.
Mercedes 250 (W114)?
Opel Diplomat
