There was a lot of spirited guessing on Ed Stembridge’s CC earlier today. Steve65 was the first to say a Hornet, but the win goes to Mopar Dave for pegging it as both an AMX and a ’77 model.
Here’s a snippet of tomorrow’s Curbside Classic. What the heck is it?
1978 Olds 442, maybe????
Subaru BRAT
1975/79 Oldsmobile Omega SX
73-77 Oldsmobile 442?
76/77 442
The GM vibe is strong with this one.
1978 Olds Cutlass 442 W-29 Fastback Coupe
Craig; we just place our guesses, but no pictures or other signs of proof or certitude. That way others can keep guessing too. Thanks.
You know, the last time I saw a CC clue and guessed it was a Bistango LaMancha, I was sadly mistaken. But surely this time it is indeed that most legendary of the LaManchas, the XXIV. My April 1994 issue of Australia’s Wheels magazine, notes that this acclaimed Andorran supercar was a mere AU$889,750. A pittance really, when it came with a 9.3 litre 24 Cylinder Engine, putting out a gentle 480kW. The 9-speed automatic gearbox allowed 0-100 (km/h and mph!) in 3.7 seconds, and a 1/4 mile in 13.2 seconds. Such a noble steed would be a sight to behold here on CC, so I do hope it’s the mystery CC above!
