Let’s try a large expanse of sheetmetal for today’s CC Clue.
Of course, last weekend’s analysis of car colors may provide some evidence as to this car’s approximate year of manufacture, but fans of hood scoops (or windshield washer nozzles) will certainly have an advantage here.
REMINDER: No photo attachments in the comments, please – just make your guess and see what everyone else comes up with!
Early 90’s Subaru Impreza?
Subaru forester Xt
1985 VW Callaway Turbo Golf GTI
Great guess, I didn’t even know that car existed. It does look very close, except the VW doesn’t seem to have enough of a bevel at the front of the hood. Still the best guess yet.
Leaves me trying to remember when automakers started putting nozzles in the hood rather than cowl (at the base of the windshield). Other than that, no particular guess…
WRX?
Nah, that hood edge is too abrupt.
Looks like a car submerged in a waterfall, so I’ll guess a Meteor Niagara. 🙂
It looks too small for a Subaru scoop, but I’ve no idea what else it might be!.
It’s centered and has washer jets behind it, the front edge of the hood rolls down pretty abruptly and it looks pretty sculpted as it nears the headlights. With that and the color, I’m going to say it’s a 90s hopped up version of a Kei, maybe Daihatsu Mira?
This is the spout on the hand dryer in the men’s room at the Half Moon Diner.
This is a true puzzler. The odd color makes me think of something like a Geo storm, but the scoop’s all wrong. Nice choice in mystery pics.
The view of a car roof of an abandoned car stranded in a frozen lake.
Well, it’s not a Subaru, but rather a Mitsubishi Pajero Mini – a kei SUV that’s probably uncommon anywhere but Japan. But the hood scoop appears similar to one used on the full-size 2nd-generation Pajero as well.
Congratulations to Dave for the closest guess (Daihatsu Mira or other kei car)!
The abrupt hood edge definitely seems incongruous with the hood scoop, so this was a tough one.
