Our last Clue (two, actually) was from Kaiser Day. David P kinda sorta got in the neighborhood of the Henry J (right corporation, anyhow) but Mr. Bill absolutely (dare I say it?) slew the Kaiser Dragon. I say that we Knight him as Sir Bill and move on, after punch, cookies and hearty congratulations.
Another black car, but definitely not a Kaiser. Consider that your hint.
70s Chevy… Monte Carlo. No clue really, but a guess 🙂
Edit: Naw, GM couldn’t design something mis-fit that bad.
’75 and ’76 Caprices had a wide molding like that.
75-79 Skylark?
Ah, VentiPorts, that explains the ‘mismatch’ trim. I’d say Electra rather. ’75, ’76.
’85-’90 Buick Electra
Bring on the punch and cookies! 🙂
Mr. Bill
The panel gap was pretty awful, too awful I think even for pre-77 GM.
My guess is that the car had body work or a countermeasure for door sag (big problem on these) like shims to over compensate or the old home remedy of pulling up on the door as much as you could. That always made things worse…
