It appears that Aaron65 was much too generous on the last clue. Fordfan called it on the third guess as a ’69 Rebel, and mFred was there five minutes later to identify this Rebel as one with the SST trim level. So congratulations to these two sharp-eyed readers.
Another day, another clue. No taillight or grille closeup, this. Now that I have told you what it is not, it is your turn to tell us what it is. I was going to stop here on the hints, but our first two guesses yesterday were for a Chevy and a Ford. So just to be clear, it is still AMC week.
Well, since it’s still AMC week, this suggests a 1952-1955 full size Nash.
Actually, I think that should be 1950-1955 full size Nash Statesman or Ambassador, the Airflytes.
Dunno what it is, but those are some sweet gams!
I would say ’48 DeSoto with the Flying Lady hood ornament, but it is AMC week, after all.
sweet gams… gold
Grand Wagoneer. Not sure how, but I have to say that since AMC week wouldn’t be complete without one.
JPC-a little bit of disambiguation, eh wot? This is from a 1939 Packard Super 8.
I’m assuming that’s a Petty Girl hood ornament from a ’50s Nash, although it could theoretically be on anything. (I’ve seen them on everything from Ambassadors to Rambler wagons.)
Oooh, it must be a big Nash, I can’t wait to see it.
She could be found on about anything AMC in the 50’s down to the Metropolitan, but on it the plinth tapers more at the rear.
1955 Nash Rambler Cross Country
I’d also say: 1955 Nash Rambler Cross Country
1951-1952 Rambler Greenbrier station wagon.
Mr. Bill
1953 Nash hood ornament?
