Buicks, Buicks everywhere. But nobody remembered the Reatta. That must have been a pretty distinctive (or popular) shade of red.
Let’s step back a bit for this one. Wasn’t Reatta the name of the ranch in the novel/movie Giant (one of James Dean’s three films)? Well, this clue has nothing to do with either one of them. Good luck.
1970 Datsun 240Z
I think you nailed it. Definitely a Z, probably a 240 (without going to Google to look at details).
‘Reata’ was the name of the ranch, but close enough. That movie lasted almost as long as the Reatta’s production run (201 minutes!).
2011 Pagani Huayra
I concur with Phil who got this first. It is also a Nissan Fairlady Z (1969 in its home market!) – what was the previous CC-Clue the Burgundy car with the fat rubber window molding… that wasn’t a Buick Riatta which has flush mounted rear window glass!
Agree, do not see where the Riatta clue was shown in the the story. Actually the clue looked like cheap scaled modeled toy. Give us a blow up of the clue please.
Jeff explained his tech difficulties in the Reatta clue. After fooling with it for awhile, he emailed it to me, and I was able to get it shrunken to insert into the clue, but it may have been more by accident than by design. I did not see the car, but could see where we are looking at a black rubber or plastic gasket. A check of some Reatta forums indicates that there is a thin black soft plastic reveal molding around the back glass, and it is a real pain to deal with if you ever need to remove the window. It is not for sealing, but to cover the seam between the glass and the sheetmetal. Wow. Now I know more than I ever wanted to about Reatta rear windows.
can you please post the full Reatta picture?
240Z Datsun but Im late as usual
Yep, ditto and ditto – must be the time difference here that makes us late Bryce!
Yeah these other guys day starts too early or late
2013 Eterniti Hemera
Ha, I thought you made that up, but it’s true! Yikes.
Z first comment is correct.
Jeez, that’s the most iconic part of the Z. What would have been more interesting is zeroing in on one of the cheesy, plasticy parts such as the molding around the taillights.
What the heck — I’ll say 260Z…….
Original Z. This one is too easy!
Hey, I know this one this time. 1970-1973 Nissan 240Z. Not that I’m the first, but still.
