As a Senior Industrial Design student at Georgia Tech, I submitted a resume to GM’s Styling Studio when a recruiter from same was on campus. He made it pretty clear that designers just starting out would be relegated to working on components as opposed to styling whole cars (I didn’t make the cut, which is probably just as well).
So it’s likely some enterprising young man (this car’s vintage makes it highly unlikely it was a woman) was assigned the door handles on our subject car… recognize it?
As usual, no photos in the comments… make your guess, but keep your ‘certitude’ to a minimum so others can enjoy playing, too!
1964-ish Imperial. Up to ’68, actually.
The 1964-66 design had lift-up handles. This is from a ’67 or ’68.
That’s a nice looking door handle. The shape of it reminds me of Ford products.
This is some shiny metal, so I’m going with a Lincoln of some sort.
Having just been treated to the Fleetwood CC ths week, I’d say ths is the Town Car or Conti.
I have to second Stainsey on it being a Ford. The lock looks like a FoMoCo product.
Which Ford? Knowing I’m wrong I’ll go with an XB Falcon.
Middle 80’s Eldo or Seville?
68 1/2 to 71 Continental Mark III
O am looking cross eyed, and talking to myself thinking i see a back up light, or Footstep for a wagon in this clue… but on what… not a 70 riviera certainly?
Appears to be the ’68 Imperial convertible from Ed’s article today. The push button shape was typical of Chrysler cars then. Very elegant design.
