This should be easy – what’s more identifiable than a car’s grille? I didn’t photoshop the badge away, I swear – that’s how it was on the car that was on the street. What street? Well, it was a square, actually. In Tbilisi, Georgia.
And that’s all the help you’re getting.
The grille looks like the one on an IKCO Samand sedan, but IKCO’s emblem is not round…
…
Some version of the Mitsubishi Montero Sport (AKA Challenger).
Looks like a last-few-years Mercury Marquis to me, with a ripped-off emblem…but who the hell would import a Mercury all the way to Tbilisi?
Mitsubishi perhaps?
Samand.
Ding ding ding! We have a winner who doesn’t doubt his answer.
Knew it would be too easy for some folks — particularly you.
Mitsubishi Diamante?
There’s been this recent trend to “black out” or remove the logos on cars (mostly imports) that I’ve noticed over the past few years. I don’t know what that signifies, unless it’s a reaction to how ludicrously large they’ve become.
To match their blacked-out wheels, windows, and (ugh) taillights. Heck, some cars even come from the factory that way.
Gotta admit, it looks a hell of a lot better than the hideous standard gold.
Skoda
Skoda? I think I saw this grille on the chase cars in the Tour de France coverage
Skoda of some sort…
I’m not familiar enough with their models to try to guess beyond that.
Skoda Superb
Skoda Superb
Looks like a Skoda version of a gen 4 Jetta.
I agree with Yoshi it looks like an IKCO Samand except for the badge. Wikipedia says the Samand is also built by AzSamand in Azerbaijan, which is near Tbilisi, Georgia. Maybe the AzSamand has a different round badge?
Yep. You (and yoshi and payam) are right. Iran Khodro / IKCO Samand. Congrats!
This one is dead easy: Iran Khodro Samand LX
Looks like a Skoda to me
I think your CC capsule on the 2007 Iran Khodro Samand gave it away.
Had I not looked at the first picture, I never would have known.
