Yes, the Clue is back! The big question is if there are enough players who have found there way here yet. One way to find out. BTW, as things start to settle into a routine here, my goal is to put up one new CC every day except Sunday, along with a few blog posts/Outtakes. How does that sound? More? Less? Something else?
(Update: Less is sometimes more, and from the feedback so far and my own desire to stay inspired and not burn out, the CC schedule will be less frequent than suggested above. I’m going to try to follow Ben Franklin’s advice: “write something worth reading or do something worth writing about”.
Early eighties Chryco LeBaron/Dodge 400?
I’m thinking circa 1973 Chevy full size pickup.
Don’t overextend yourself through a forced posting schedule, I think everyone here would rather have quality over quantity.
With fortune, more commenters will make their way over. Much of the CC joy is in hearing others expounding contrasting stories.
I agree…one of the pleasures of CC was it’s randomness, lending time to digest your essay, review the stories and think of one of your own. And many times in our busy lives we’re not able to check in daily. Don’t knock yourself out…quality indeed.
’65 Impala btw.
That helps; that’s what I prefer to do, and not become a slave to a rigid schedule.
Dodge Mirada?
I agree with the above. Keep the “CC’s” special, not more than one a week, that way if you give the clue on a Monday or Tuesday, and reveal it on Thursday or Friday (I don’t do much web stuff over weekends), that’ll give us time to revel in the “hunt”! It’s bad enough keeping up with one auto web site, now I have two!
I stumbled unto this quote from Ben Franklin the other day: “Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing about”. I’m going to follow his sage advice, as well as yours, although more likely more than one CC per week.
At the moment, I am a bit burned out from an intense three weeks getting this site put together. This is a good time to reflect on how to go forward.
The sharp angles and visible from space panel gaps shout malaise era but but beyond that I’m stumped.
Sheesh, ‘mind the gap’, indeed. Nothing shouts quality like a gaping, uneven testament to a darker time like this.
“Malaise” is definitely the word, but I got nothing.
Oh heck, wild guess, A-body Cutlass Ciera given that the “complete Cutlass” is coming, although I think the edges are likely too sharp even for the A-body Chevrolet Celebrity that I used to hand wax.
I had a summer job in college working at a plastics factory that supplied GM where I had to cut and trim the plastic extrusions off of early 80’s Cutlass Ciera headlight bezels ad nauseum over an eight hour shift. (Another reason why I don’t miss the old square quad sealed beams..) 😉
I’m gonna have to go with a very late 70’s full-size Chrysler like a New Yorker or Newport- the newer square-rigged body. And I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that those are the factory panel gaps, either.
And Paul it’s great to see you on your new site! Well-spoken, down to earth, lots of life experience to share and totally involved with your fans. I am definitely one!
Paul, I think you should run the CC clue at least once a week, maybe more if your schedule allows. Although I wasn’t an active participant I enjoyed reading the guesses.
I will, for the new CCs. I’ll put one up later today. I didn’t for some of the re-runs, and won’t for the 1971 six car comparison re-run, because some will know how that comes out,
Just put one up! We aim to please…
