I sure haven’t, which explains why I’m posting this one shot by Rivera Notario in Quintero, Chile. And I’m rather taken by it; unlike so many hearse conversions, this seems rather organic in its styling. And it looks great in front of that sweet little funeral home behind it.
Cohort Outtake: Hyundai Azera Hearse – Bet You Haven’t Seen One Before

Well…. I guess it would be appropriate for people who die in 120 MPH headon crashes. Zoom into the grave at the same speed.
Most folks aren’t in such a hurry to reach the finish line.
The fewer hearses I see the better.

A great view out from the “way back”.
Nothing will beat the B-body LeSabre hearse, but I really like this one. Thanks Rivera!
There’s no way that should work, but it does.
Reminds me of an El Camino with a topper.
Also, why is a hearse aerodynamic?
Reminds me of these – quite common in the UK. They’re not very stately – might as well sling me in the trunk of a rented Camry.
This certainly is not a straight forward conversion ,
Some serious engineering went into it,
Wheelbase stretch , chassis strengthening , custom roof , back and side windows and tailgate,
Why the builder went through all this trouble?
Why not take a Toyota or Nissan mini-van and modify just the interior ?
I guess a minivan didn’t have the cachet of the classic hearse I presume?
On the other hand, bringing a casket in a minivan taxi give us a good prank in the style of Candid Camera. 馃槈
A van just wouldn’t work as a hearse here in Chile. They all are station wagons.
By the way, I always have troubles to post :/
It’s a ceremonial vehicle, not a utility vehicle. There’s probably a minivan out back for pickups and transfers.
Given the lack of size and opulence of the premises, this mortician might rent a formal hearse like this when needed and the client’s budget allows it.
Third try: These are bodied in Chile by a company called Corona. I want to link more examples but can’t. Paul posted about one of their Cadillac conversions years ago here at CC.
Hyun-die?
I like it. Considering that there are so few full sized wagons (I am not counting the CUVs like the Volvo V90 or Mercedes GLC, GLE, or GLS or the like) that one needs to base a modern hearse off of a sedan. The MKT gets the treatment in the USA from Lincoln, but the Cadillac hearse of choice is an XTS. It really comes down to what is available for the market and what can be easily converted. The fact that they kept the design more organic rather than slapping gingerbread baroque themes onto it works well, as does the white color.
