The Toyota FJ62 in the background ain’t bad either, though these were only available with automatic transmissions in the US. Setting the trend for all US market Land Cruisers to come after.
You could get that gen Land Cruiser in the USA with a stick. Buddy I worked with had one, might have been a year or two older cause it had round headlights. But it was originally a us spec truck with the gas inline six/carburator/5 speed/factory a/c
Anyways the Chevy is pretty darn sweet. I always wonder how they get that sort of patina while still being pretty straight down the sides. Usually trucks get worked to death, body beat to hell with tons of dents, fender benders that were never fixed, etc. Im betting its got a sbc V8 under the hood of some variety. That does make them so much nicer to drive vs the old stovebolt six/gears that have that thing screaming at speeds over 50 or so.
Gotta love the Task Force series of Chevy & GMC trucks .
I still miss my ’55 2.5 ton Task Force tow truck, it had _real_ patina, not this fake B.S. .
As to how they get like this , there’s a whole B.S. thing they do to ruin perfectly good motor vehicles by sanding the good paint down to the metal then wiping them with Phosphoric Acid and a rag .
In ten years or so this truck, even if garaged with be rusted paper thin and destroyed .
Oddly enough this can be used as a light duty truck per it’s original design .
I miss every one of the many different American made inline 6 cylinder powered light & medium duty trucks I’ve ever had .
Only the late 1970’s Dodges had AC and PS etc. , they looked funny but were head and shoulders better than my beloved Chevy or Ford light duty trucks .
This truck looks perfect! Love it!
I would rather daily drive a late model truck, but these old trucks really tug at the heart strings.

I’d prefer it lifted.
Black wheels would be the first thing I would do to this. The blue is off putting. Just not my taste.

Chuck Jordan did a great job on those trucks. A very purposeful look, always seem like they are pulling a load.
