John Lloyd posted this shot of a six-shooter C3 Corvette. In Tom Halter’s post on the six tail light Corvette, he mused that the larger lights and narrower rear panel kept folks from adding another set to the C3. But if there’s a will, there’s a way.

Six lights schmix lights..let’s discuss the real story. Four (count ’em) bumper guards! Has any Corvette before or since been so adequately protected?
I’m thinking this might have actually been a racer – the bumper guards would protect that fancy bodywork – to facilitate pushing it back to the pit area by a track vehicle?
The six taillights is what captures your attention at first, but then I see the big thing – the extra widened rear quarters to accommodate the super-wide wheels/tires. That extra outboard width almost demands an extra taillight per side, and they do a remarkable job of disguising the other mods.
I noticed it was widened, too. They were pretty careful overall, but the last outboard light is visibly higher, so i’ll call this a 6/10. Like falsetto, if it’s not super super good, then it’s really bad.
I spy lattice skirting in the back ground, does that mean this spiffy ‘Vette is parked near a trailer ? .

To each his own I suppose.
I’m not a big fan of customized Corvettes as the end result can be like the example above or worse. I have come across a nicely modified 77 Coupe in Calgary which is tastefully redone and also contains some interesting engineering features that improve its performance and handling.
Agreed I’m not a fan of customized vettes in general. Although the wheels in your picture do look very appropriate.
For an extreme example watch “corvette summer”
A 4-wheel dog, I tell ya…….
A friend of mine had a very similar looking ‘Vette. Must better shape. ’70’s IMSA sports car racing look. At car shows he would describe as “Chip Foose like”. This was usually followed by eye rolls. Lots of money spent ruining the value of the car.
I consider Chip Foose an IQ test like Guy Fieri: whoever’s a fan, I probably won’t have much to talk about with.
That’s quite the shot, something for almost everyone here…
The Corvette for “Corvette Summer II” that must have gotten cancelled and the build stopped when Mark Hamill had to save the Galaxy instead but the car still doing double duty for the Impala fans.
A Cutlass for all the Cutlass fans, so pretty much everyone else of driving age in the 1970s it would seem.
A Cadillac for all youse guys, youse know who youse are
And a lovely little ’75 or so Honda Civic CVCC in the background pour moi.
Hopefully John took at least three more pictures to make a (series)…?
I think the extra lights are among the lesser of this Corvette’s torts.
But don’t let’s rush to a hasty judgement; has anyone taken a tape measure to this car as, ah, modified? Perhaps those fifth and sixth rear lamps are clearance lamps, as required on vehicles over 80 inches in maximum width.
Not that I have all the answers; maybe someone else can explain what the driver is meant to see via that –
sideview– mirror there on the right door.Inspired by a Popular Mechanicals magazine article “How To Make Your Corvette Look Like An Impala”. The side mirror on the door is for snorting cocaine off of.
The the left in the photo is a Cutlass Supreme (’81 thru ’86).
