Best looker from the VW stable somewhere I have a photo of an absolute basket case Karman Ghia that was skim bogged and painted back to immaculate I caught it with the paint off, pretty sure its on the cohort somewhere.
Sure! If you want a German car to look good, then you need to hop a train to Italy and visit the design houses for beautiful styling. Not very fast but certainly beautiful.

I just like the busted beauty of this entire scene. Reminds me a bit of an Eggleston photo. Well shared.
This one’s in slightly better condition….
Nice / beautiful / sad photo. My Dad had been eyeing a new Karmann Ghia back in the day, I remember he had saved the brochures from the dealer.
Then Mom got pregnant with my older sister, and that was the end of that idea and he bought a Rambler 🙂

It was good enough for Maxwell Smart to drive up to CONTROL HQ in for seasons 3 and 4 of Get Smart, when VW was one of the sponsors.
Surprisingly, Max never used the KG in any of his missions in these seasons, reverting to his trusty Sunbeam Tiger or a Shelby Mustang Convertible.
This is still a good looking design and way better than the Type 34 KG based on the Type 3 model series.
