Yes, I went over to the other side of the dragstip to buy some 112 Fuel for my “Ruster” Race car which can be found Here:

It’s not surprising to see nice older MoPars on track or in the spectator area at keystone Raceway for any given event.
When Dodge demanded a version of the Plymouth Duster, To be named Demon, nee:Sport Plymouth was given a version of the Dart Swinger as a trade. Named the Scamp. Dodge got revised 4 lamp taillights in the rear bumper while Plymouth made do with the Dodge hand me down two taillight bumper.
Nice car in V.G.C, especially cool that it’s near the track .

The first thing I notice is the grille, which is missing no plastic teeth. Those grilles had zero protection from kids’ bicycles, shopping carts, or things between the bumper and the front garage wall, so almost every one of these cars I ever saw after a certain period of time had grilles with small spots broken out of them. I know mine did – until a transmission shop broke it worse and replaced it for me with a new one.
This one does look like its bumper took one in the jaw, though.
From the callout on the fender, it’s a 1970-71 with the 318 V8 engine. From 1972 it was omitted. I had a 1972 Gold Duster with the 318, and it was quick, but then I had massaged its ignition and carburetion beyond its smog tuning.
It makes me smile to see cars like these from my pre and early teen years. Growing up, a Chrysler/Plymouth dealer was about a half a block away and the Ford dealer was only a block east from there. The Ford dealer is still hanging on, but the CP dealer is long gone… probably since 1975 or thereabouts.
The Chevy/Olds dealer was my favorite, but they were a bike ride away. They closed down sometime in the 1990s, I think.
I put a comment in, but it got swept away to the spam folder – Too many links I guess. Nice plymouth there!
Thanks for letting us know – I recovered your comment from the Spam folder and it’s now posted above.
Thank you, much appreciated. Too many links in my first post. So it kicked off the spam filter.
