There’s something rather menacing about these garage images shared by roshake at the Cohort. In the case of the 1960 Buick, the threatening feel is certainly aided by its visage. In the case of the Mark V, a sensation that I assume it’s related to location and the cars around it. Neither vehicle in this image feels ready to make friends, with the S-Class Mercedes’s ominous silhouette in the back closing an unfriendly trio.
Could be worse though; if we had a ’59 Buick and a ’61 Plymouth facing us in this shot, that would be truly terrifying.
Not seen in the first shot, the Mark V has a companion of similar vintage nearby. This is the same garage in Budapest from where I posted a Ford LTD last week, so it would seem there’s a 1970s Ford aficionado that collects these. Talking about which, we may be paying one more visit to this location in the next few days.

Do you think they have the same owner or different owners?
Nice find.
I’m going to guess it’s actually the über-angry face of the 1961 Plymouth to go with a 1959 Buick, and not the more prosaic, last ‘Forward Look’ front of the 1960 Plymouth.
Absolutely. I meant to say the ’61; a truly otherwordly and mean creature. The text is amended now.
I’d find a ’59 Buick next to a ’59 Lincoln the most terrifying…
Yikes, the fact that there is two Lincolns ups the terror substantially.
As a small child I found the rear view of the family 1959 Pontiac to be disquieting. Realize too that I was only as tall as the taillights on the car at the time.
lolol Yes, the back of our “57 Merc” was a bit “ominous” to me..lol
…
Poor things can’t keep their eyes closed.
Amazing how “outright friendly” the “60 Buick” appears compared to the “59”.
Put me down for the fuel efficient choice, the Mercedes S-Class pulling all the strings in the background.
Show us some pics of the city too please.
