Something with a big hatch or rear cargo doors, that’s what you want when your canine passenger is substantially bigger than a toy dog. Yesterday, I passed by eight practical doggy mobiles, neatly lined up alongside a bike path.
The quartet in the foreground, from left to right: 2015 Renault Kadjar, 2008 Fiat Doblò, 2016 Renault Scénic, 2010 Volkswagen Caddy.
The Renault Kadjar rides on the same platform as the Nissan Qashqai (Rogue Sport). The Ram ProMaster City is based on the second generation of the Fiat Doblò, which was introduced in 2010.
PSA predominates the other group.
From left to right: 2007 Citroën Berlingo, 2001 Citroën Berlingo, 2005 Peugeot Partner (the Peugeot edition of the Berlingo), 2018 Fiat Ducato. The Ram ProMaster didn’t get the 2014 revised front end of the Fiat and PSA Euro-vans.
From the dog’s perspective, the Fiat certainly is the biggest school bus.
Johannes, the more you post these, the more I want one!
Be careful where you step!
Or in this case: achtung!
Where I live in California, parking along a bike path like that would be frowned upon, if not illegal. I would have thought in bicycle-friendly Holland it would be the same. No?
By the way, it’s interesting that the Kadjar and Qashqai share Persian-origin names as well as platforms.
Still plenty of space left for cyclists, moped/scooter riders, skaters, joggers and walkers (like me). It’s a quite wide one-way bike path, meaning there are bike paths on each side of the main road.
Oh yes, that bike path is also used by our fruit growers (narrow track tractors towing multiple single-axle trailers).
Subaru Foresters are big with the dog crowed around here. Decent size cargo area and just as importantly low access height.
Love these articles from the Continent!
Sorry this thread is worthless without dog pix! 😱☹️😉 Here’s one to get you started … taken from the back of my Buick regal TourX — also a great dog mobile.
