This house is two blocks from my house, and it’s yielded a few good shots in the past, as there seem to be certain requirements to be admitted (always short; either tall or not). But there’s a new member in the household, and it’s really pushing the rules. Will it be voted off the driveway? At least it’s white.
CC Outtake: A New Member In The Short and Tall Family’s Driveway

Yeah…..gotta wonder how that Buick Rendezvous got there and, if the driver is a guest, how long he’ll be allowed to stay.
C’était un Buick Rendez-vous.
Claude says “Non”!
Claude still prefers his W116 450 SEL 6.9 when he goes out on a date.
Neat driveway, but is that just a regular Smart Car?
Nobody’s noticed the oddest one out? The little Geo Metro drop top in front of the Smart.
The wheels, the flames.. GAA!
They’re both first Gen boxes and in good shape. I’m just happy for that.
Yeah.. That’s the ticket.
I want to play “One of these things is not like the others” but I think a good case could be made for any of them to be the odd man out.
I would think the Buick fits in well here, aside from it’s being built by a domestic GM division (we all know the GEO is a Suzuki). After all, the Rendezvous is a shortened minivan and it’s odd styling/proportions make it tall looking….especially compared to most other cars.
I would have loved to have one of those 1 gen Scions (“It’s HIP To BE Square!”), but that (IMO) RIDICULOUS center mounted gauge pod killed it for me! 🙂
As an owner of a white 2005 xB (not one of the ones shown), I don’t understand the hate for the pod. The instrument pod is NOTin the center; it’s well offset to the left, right in the driver’s natural field of vision when driving. It takes substantially less eye movement to read it when driving than looking down to a conventional gauge cluster.
In true CC effect, I parked next to a white xB in the ’86 Jetta yesterday. Side by side the Jetta looks huge. I always thought these were good cars, but I never fully realized how small they are until yesterday.
Must own an appliance store.
