Edward knows I have an irrepressible passion about scaled down trucks. Like in compact, but ready for serious work. They’re all over Europe, managing to do the work that much larger trucks are pressed into service for hereabouts. Like this cute OM/Iveco. I’m just heading out the door, but maybe someone knows more details about it.
A dump bed for the gravel and mulch, and short enough to maneuver into the tight little alley houses I have. And a rugged little diesel that probably tops out at 55 mph or so. Good enough for my use.
Ah, the world would be a better place if Obama had just forced GM to sell those in the US…
Wow. I could sure put something like that to work too. I need a smaller work truck for jobs where the F350 just won’t fit. Small but heavy-duty would beat the small Toyota/Nissan trucks I assume I’ll be stuck with.
Very nice. The front end reminds me a lot of Fiat/Lada sedan styling
I used to drive a 500hp Iveco Cursor tractor unit not a bad truck bigger than this but.
Paul I share your passion. I would love to own that or one of the Japanese Kei class trucks/vans.

If you head up to South Dakota; or make a number of phone calls…I can’t give you a lead on sellers; but they’re all OVER the place. South Dakota will issue title and plates for them.
I talked to one owner, who had his primarily as advertising and goodwill for his business; he said the dealers who traded in them had to buy a fixed lot to get a shipment. Apparently the manufacturers would sell direct to buyers; not to dealers exclusively. Buy a job-lot; and they’re yours to sell or whatever.
Like I said, they were all over. Even a few in a Forest Service storage lot. Be warned, though – they were all right-hand drive.
The cute little guys are beyond just starting to populate local wrecker (souther Vancouver Island). Saw this pair last week.

There is a guy in Sacramento that has 7-8 in his yard, keep meaning to stop and get a photo.
Good to know, recently I have been seeing one being trailered and decked out in camo for duck hunting. Also our State parks service uses them in the parks. But none on the road. Thanks for the info, I will keep it in mind.
Even though they don’t look alike it reminds me of the 79 Datsun I had. Flat bed that I made and shorter than normal because of that. Went everywhere, did everything, and if I was on the highway it got around 30mpg. Yes I am kicking myself.
Read up on OM – fascinating.

I was wondering if anyone would mention that OM won the first Mille Miglia…
Interesting to see such tall and skinny tires as tandems on the rear. I dig the utility of the hinged sides on the bed.
The hinged bedsides were pretty much standard on European flatbed and dump trucks. Probably still are.
It’s a Fiat 616.
