I generally stay away from trying to shoot cars in motion. Between my modest camera and my more modest skills, it usually doesn’t amount to much, especially if I’m standing on the sidewalk. But my attempts at panning to match the speed of this one sort of worked; well at least for me. Maybe it helped being inspired by the car.

When it’s a vintage Porsche, you gotta do what ya gotta do!!
He looks a bit chilly, eh?
Back in 1972, I was running a Sunoco station in South Richmond. A young fellow about my age brought in a lovely, rust free 1960 Porsche 356B for some minor service. As he paid his tab, he mentioned that the car was for sale. I asked, “How much?” He answered, “One thousand dollars”. In those days, that might as well have been ten thousand dollars, and I had to let it go. Whenever I remember that opportunity, I still kick myself.
