We made a pilgrimage to the Oregon Country Fair recently. I thought about doing a whole post on it, but I don’t know how well it would go over: I know that lots of topless girls and folks having a good time might be too “out there” for some of you, so maybe I’ll just do some outtakes of the more compelling breasts vehicles I saw. Without reviving the culture wars, lets just say that hippies really know how to party. What’s more, they know how to get to at least one of the biggest annual parties–perhaps even from Inner Mongolia–as this ready-for-anything rig in the parking lot clearly proved.
I used to MM about getting a used Isuzu FC truck, with a dumping flat bed with side boards, and a camper that I could mount on the bed; actually, not too different than this. Don’t really need the four-wheel drive, though. Bet it rides a bit firmly.
I really wish you would make an attempt at offending me with female pulchritude in its most primal state. But nothing over 35 or when gravity has taken its toll.
Agreed…I find Paul guilty of the ol’ bait ‘n switch.
Why? He posted a link….
Ooh! I could make due with that little Mitsu easily. Looks like it even has a driven front axle, though the lack of a Reefer on top of the box scares me a bit.
Wow, that was not what I expected when I clicked on the link. That is not what one expects when “Country Fair” is in the link. Way cool. I’ll have to add that to my list of places to check out.
Below is a Land Rover I shot at an unfortunately (though I did not know it was unfortunate until now) much more conservative county fair in Australia. It seems to be some sort of forward control surf wagon.
You can barely make out what I think is a snorkel on the truck behind it. Auzzies love their truck snorkels.
That is one strange looking L-R. Nearly looks like an Oka truck, which are a purpose built off-road truck, and 100% purposeful and designed for serviceability.
Looks like a home-made snorkel on the Toyota Hilux pickup. They are very popular for either hard-core off-roading or also to get cleaner air when driving on unsealed roads with other vehicles around, ie above more of the dust.
There are a few trucks like this either with a camper (rare) or more usually in the utilities maintenance sector or similar. I knew of a guy who bought one to replace a 6×6 Landcruiser (that he barrell-rolled) for crop spraying, and wished he’d done it sooner as it turned a lot more tightly than the 6×6.
ps Sean – Isuzu is different from Mitsubishi
Check the front of the rig. FUSO above and three Diamonds in the grille. 😀
Oops! Clear lack of comprehension too, Paul doesn’t refer to this truck as an Isuzu.
>>PRUDE WARNING!!!<<
Yes, an author/photojournalist can tease with lots of mammaries. He can even convince himself and those he tittilates, of his "sophistication."
Like Pavlov's dogs were sophisticated.
Yeah…males like to look at it. Splendid. There's only ten-million options on the internet that provide it.
Normal? Sure. Desired? Yes, to some extent…those of us who don't care about context.
Desirable, as in grind-yer-nose-in-it? NO.
Part of life? Sure. So is Montezuma's Revenge, time to time. Doesn't mean I want to go to a county fair and watch it unfold.
Ok I get it, I know Fuzz box is the new Dodge in trucks but I had hoped for pic of the old un. Here have a dodge rebadge.
