Some folks might have a hard time believing what I encounter here daily. Datsun 210s? No big deal; plenty still on the street. One towing a trailer? Ok; I’ll bother to pull out my camera for that…
Full-length Datsun 210 CCs: here and here(the CC Manifesto, no less)
Obviously going camping and taking his toilet along.
Given that the thing can barely get out of its own way in today’s traffic, I wonder how it fares towing a trailer? 😉 Around town might be OK, though.
I tow my trailer with a 49.5 hp 59 Hillman Minx it is not disgraced by modern traffic and that little dustbin could blow the doors off my Minx at a traffic light.
I once towed a VW Beetle behind a similar-vintage Corolla for 400 miles on the interstate. Rolled along with traffic quite nicely. No big hills, fortunately 🙂
datsun 210 is one of the most reliable cars ever.A14 engine is tough as nail.i have seen one on salem’sCL with 550 k miles on stock engine about a year&half ago.my cousin in north carolina drives a 79 with 380k or so miles on it&still going strong, not everyone like huge v8 cars in this great country,if you can drive a reliable classic that returns 30+ mpg&gets the job done, why not.have a happy spring everyone.
I am inspired. I’m getting a tow hitch for my modern Datsun (Nissan).
I used to have a 1979 model of this car, light blue, tough as nails. I never tried to tow anything with it though.
Does somebody want to try it with their Nissan March?
🙂
