One never knows what to expect in the Whiteaker District, and a small sailing ship pulled up on the curb shouldn’t really be a surprise. At first, I assumed it was just some sort of ornament. But a closer look shows that it got here under its own power, and on its own wheels.
The wheels are just barely noticeable under its”skirt”. But the drivers seat, steering wheel, and lawn-tractor engine are more obvious, at closer inspection. And given the thick coating of white dust on the engine, it’s also obvious that this vehicle recently spent some time on the dusty sands of Burning Man. I’m assuming it didn’t drive back under its own power.
I’ve got to get down to Eugene sometime soon – seems ‘Chock Full O’ Nuts’ Probably a better place for me to be! lol Funny that I knew it was Eugene even before I looked up Whiteaker District! lol
Is the sofa there as a waiting area for the next available ride?
Maybe it’s self propelled too.
Nice catch on a Mutant Vehicle.
To experience it properly you need to see it at night, while intoxicated and/or high and covered in alkali dust.
Some of the hippy school bus conversions that show up are interesting. 30-40yr old vehicles that have been heavily modified into a party RV thing. With all the ancient iron the Towing and Recovery guys just kill it. Only time they get paid for the 40 yr old Hippie Wagon on their hook with an AmEx Black Car.
I’ve seen a speedboat on a vw chassis but this is even more wierd er… ingenious.
Eugene is very much a town that proves liberalism is a mental illness.
How thoughtful.
Being mentally ill beats being uptight and judgmental. The inmates are at least having some fun 🙂 Are you experiencing a deficit in that realm?
