The other day I showed you pictures of a little Mazda pickup with a big Silver Streak trailer. It reminded me of this Corvette I shot with a big double axle trailer. Just as unlikely a pairing, if not more so, don’t you think?
And just about as credible as the previous one, too, eh? Although a lot of you seemed to have fallen for it.
I’m usually not a fan of wheels like that, but they’re not a bad match at all.
I’m sure the stiff sidewalls help stability while towing as well. 😉
Looks like he would tow motorcycles on that thing.
To do it safely, he’d need an electric brake controller. Chances are, it would be the only ‘Vette in the world so equipped.
I think I see a tongue jack sitting on concrete lol!
Mine has a brake controller. Also a hard wired camera system.
I’ll never get the appeal of those blobby aftermarket taillights on C3s, I see them far too often.
What Chevy had to say on the subject in 1973:
That F150 is ready to load as soon as they find the good ramps.
There is some interesting machinery in those photos: Three bikes, one with passenger included, a two tone F body, and three BMW’s.
There used to be a TV ad here in Ireland for the European Lottery, showing a Lamborghini (?) pulling a trailer of hay-bales at speed ( suggesting a farmer could win multi-millions… )
Same thing here – some cars should never wear a tow-hitch.
Sounds familiar, something similar over here.
“Herbie – Fully Unloaded”
I also pulled a manure spreader home from an auction behind Herb… “run whatcha brung”
Seeing a trailer hitch on a Corvette makes me sad.
It makes me smile. Like the towbar a local Healey owner gas on his car.
I have a towbar on my Hillman Imp and will install one on my Jensen Interceptor.
Maybe the Corvette driver is simply transporting the empty trailer. I had to do this a couple of times with my old Chevy C20 pick- up truck. I hauled an empty, massive triple-axle heavy equipment float-trailer, simply to move it from one jobsite to another.
I think it’s empty weight maxed-out the towing capacity of the truck. At least I had a brake controller for it so it was a safe pull.
Those later C3 Corvettes used to look kind of ridiculous to me. Now they are starting to look kind of “cool.” I guess nostalgia is a wonderful thing.
That C3 to me looks like a Hot Wheels car from Mattel
I walk by this house a lot. There’s usually quite a venerable Eugene-load of CCs, including a hideously flame-painted Mustang. The Vette looks really nice in person IMO.
Next on CC, a Porsche pulls a bird.
And after, when that fails, the owner does the same, to himself.*

Justy, would you explain, please? I am a native Spanish speaker…
Ah. I’ll try, but it’s not anything that’s going to improve your life, but anyway…
For English and Australian males who are 40 , the term “bird” is slang for a woman. To “pull” a bird means to have got her attention, and possibly be later taking her home for the night (as in “pulled her in”, I guess). Luxury sporty cars are often associated with attracting women, and so, the Porsche pulled a bird, instead of a trailer.
As for the second line, well, to “pull” oneself is to, er, pull on one’s piece, namely, to masturbate. So, when the Porsche failed in its task of “pulling a bird”, the owner was left to do the pulling of himself for himself and by himself.
So there you have it. It’s brilliantly witty (not!) and having to give a long explanation here serves me right for making the silly comment in the first place.
Cheers, Rafael!
