Two outstanding Mopars and two of GM’s finest. Compact, mid-size, full-size, and personal luxury. Front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive. Lots of originality. A boatload of character and patina. Spotted recently at a used car dealer in Southwest Missouri, which would you choose?

Nice line up! I think I like the white Oldsmobile Toronado the best. The Valiant/Dart might be the easiest to get back on the road again though.
Toronado all the way. Look it’s even winking at me…
That 66 or 67 Toronado would be my pick as a restoration candidate. I saw a beautiful black one at a car show on Saturday and it looked beautiful. When I walked up to it with my camera, there were already two other guys circling the car taking pictures.
The 69 Belvedere sedan looks ready to drive away (possibly with some new and slightly wider tires) and use as a daily driver, which is exactly what I would do with it.
Mmm, Buick hardtop (69 or 70 Electra 225?) for me. The baby blue paint would need to go, though.
I’ve had lots of A-body cars already, so I’d try the B-body sedan just for kicks.
This one is a tough call. I’m not sure I trust that flirtatious Toro – she can wink at Edumacatordan all she wants, but will she still love him tomorrow? That would narrow it down to the other three. If the Dart/Valiant is one of those Valiant Broughams, I’ll take it. However, that green Satellite really brings back childhood memories of watching Adam-12… That Buick? you gotta love that Buick, but I think I know a car with a drinking problem when I see one… Could I afford food and gas both? It’s one of the two Mopars for me.

– Doesn’t matter, had torque.
Toro and the deuce. Though the green Plymouth does have an undercover vibe thats pretty cool, you would need to have a matching skinny tie suit and Ray Bans to complete the look.
Couldn’t have said it better.
The B-Body has the least craptastic air about it and doesn’t sag to the side or forward like the rest. I’d pick that one and hope that the old tired car funk doesn’t hit me too hard when I open the door.
I’ll gladly take the white Toronado.
Do you really have to ask? The Slopars are automatically ruled out due to the sound made by the lowest bidder gears in the gear reduction starter. The Toro is ruled out since it does not drive the right set of wheels. The Buick wins out since it is a Buick the only GM brand I really like, and that is one of my favorite years for them and it’s a four holer.
The Satellite does look like the one most likely that you could hop in turn the key (cringe from that sound) and drive off since at least it has 4 tires that hold air. I must admit I do have a very small soft spot for it since my dad had a very similar one when it was new.
For those that aren’t Buick aficionados four holer means the top line Buick which in 1969 was the deuce and a quarter.
The Toro is the sexiest, but I’d have to go with the Buick as a regular driver. Oodles of interior space, stump-pulling Buick torque, and still decent parts availability.
That Plymouth looks just like the one driven by John Wayne in “McQ”.
Thats the movie I was thinking about when I saw it too, I always remember Waynes bad ass green Trans Am too.
Okay, I’m settling on the green B-Body, complete with ug-tastic start-up sound. Didn’t they euphemistically refer to that as the “highland park hummingbird?” In my imaginary garage, the resto-modding is now complete, and my stealth-Roadrunner/undercover copcar is ready to roll.
Satellite all the way because it looks like it needs the least work, isn’t as common as a Valiant and is probably a pretty decent driver as is.
The Toro and the Satellite are playing tug of war in my mind. The Toro just for the uniqueness of it (just for giggles, as a friend says), and the Satellite, well, because I love that generation of B body. Valiant comes in 3rd (it’s one of the later ones) and the Buick, well I will leave it for Mr. VanBuren to love.
I’ll take the Buick, but the Ram pickup in the background tickles my fancy if she’s got anything 318 or larger.
I would have the valiant. Looks like a Brougham and that makes it unique. I am one who love the Brougham Epoche. The Satellite brings up memories of my first car, a 1968 Sport Satellite but I think I would be disappointed with a four door version with out the console. That flat chrome piece on top made one hell of a bar.
That Toronado is screaming for a little TLC along w/ black paintjob and some Brillo on the chrome bits. I’m all torn between a Toro like this or a contemporary Riviera or a 67/68 Pontiac Executive. yummmmo.
Also, that Belividere is screaming for a black/white paintjob. All you Adam 12 fans must surely agree.
The Valiant bores me. The two GMs would cost a fortune to get and keep running. Gimme the ’69 Satellite/Belvedere/whatever.
