I love cars and photography. So a trip to Cars & Coffee in Wilsonville Oregon is pretty much a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning in late May. One of the cars that caught my eye that day was this beautiful Morgan. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Austin Minis. But this one just photo bombed my Morgan shoot.
I love that Morgan trike. Somehow I’ve gained a real appreciation for Morgan over the years, not sure how that happened, we often have several at our C+C as well. Beautiful cars (well, the cross-eyed one takes a little more time to appreciate).
After seeing your name I immediately wondered if this post would be from New Zealand….but no, Oregon!
I like the up-dated headlamps – not so much a daily driver as a “nightly driver”….
I was going to suggest this Moggy dated from around 1950, but I’ve just spotted the angled coil springs so this is a new one.
It’s got disc brakes as well.
Those are these, and they are quite excellent*. I’m sort of surprised the owner didn’t pick out the chrome ones instead, though.
*-unless they’re Chinese counterfeits, in which case yuck
Cars ‘n’ coffee! Cars ‘n’ coffee! (best line at 0:41)
“But this one just photo bombed my Morgan shoot.”
Sure looks like that Mini quietly crept into the background. You gotta watch those vintage Minis; they may look cute and innocent but are notorious scene stealers. 😉
Great pictures.
The modern Morgan trike is based on a design by Pete Larsen at Liberty Motors in Seattle (I think it was called the Liberty Ace). I was in Seattle a few years ago and stopped by his showroom. He was kind enough to give me a tour of the shop and to talk about the new Morgan version of the three wheeler and how it differed from his design. He didn’t offer a test drive, and since I wasn’t truly in the market for one, I didn’t ask. I’d be thrilled to take a spin in one, but it felt kind of dishonest to ask him to hand over the keys.
Thanx ! .

I find the initial picture humorous .

I’d like to test drive a Morgan three wheeler but am afraid I’d then have to buy one…..
.
Minis are cool too, I like original Minis and Rily Elfs too .

The other photobomber with the red wheels looked interesting…a Porsche ?
You have a good eye.
At least it was a REAL Mini, not the ‘new’ Mini
Some really nice choices have been made with that mini. Nice arches, good choice of seats, decent rubber. And the sump-guard and bonnet catches suggest it’s set up to go.
Speaking of CC effect, my friend and I saw a silver one in Graz, Austria last week. It was the first time I had seen one on the road. Wow, the exhaust note is very deafening and amazing!
He was driving too fast for me to react and take photo…drat!
