I took this photo in the spectator parking area at the Winton Historics a couple of years ago, and I don’t know why the car and trailer would have been where they were. It was next to the track’s maintenance compound, so that may have had something to do with it. Historic Winton is a unique motorsports event celebrating its 40th running this year, because it combines both old cars and motorcycles (including sidecars). There are usually around 500 entries racing on the last weekend of May each year.
Anyway, I don’t think it is too much of a challenge even with the missing bodywork, so can you name the car? If that is too easy, how about the vehicle at the right side of the photo?
Borgward Isabella
x2
my first thought… +3
Easy.. Next one please….
The other one, no idea except it’s a small Japanese van-type truck, maybe early 80s Mitsu Delica.
Agreed!
Borgward Issabella coup’e and a Mitsubishi L300 van
Damn you guys are good.
Hmm I was going to guess Nash Healey coupe, but I agree with you guys.
What a great call, roger628!
This 1960 example is for sale in the UK for £5700
Without the fenders, that body crease suggests a short-cabin Jaguar Mk10 two door.
This one!
The only reason I knew it was an Isabella is because I have wanted one so bad for so long, hahaha
“19– Borgward Isabella. Ez restoration candidate, gasser, rat rod, resto rod, rare in this condition.”
Yay, an Isabella! There’s one near me in similar state sharing a yard with a Citroen DS. Not sure on the van – the quarter window is throwing me off. I don’t think it’s a Delica/L300 as they had no quarter window in the door. Doesn’t seem quite right for a Bongo/Econovan, Homy or Hiace either. Maybe a small cabover truck of some description?
“Maybe a small cabover truck of some description?”
Yes, but earlier than the 1980s that Roger suggested. With some more searching I think I have worked out what it is now. I didn’t pay much attention to it originally, should have taken a better snap of it at the time!
Karman Ghia?
OOPS! I just took a second look and noticed the radiator for the first time. I was going by the roof shape and what looks like rear swing axles. I have to agree on the Borgward now.
