On our urban hike through the Lane County fairgrounds, I ran across this guy having a smoke on the back of his homemade camper mounted on a ’70s Datsun 620 pickup. He’s been on the road for a while and we talked about some details of his quickly-built home on wheels, especially the roof, which I couldn’t exactly see as being waterproof given the flatness and the lack of overhangs.
He agreed with my observation and said he had to park it slanting uphill when it was raining. But he’s on the road, and I’m still ddiddling with my electric system.
I’ve seen this little truck a couple of times since. Seems like he’s enjoying hanging out in Eugene, and our rains seem to have stopped for the season.
Definition of living Free!
Maybe be’s The Sunshine Man – wherever he goes, the rain stops. He has no need for proper roof drainage. Or more likely whenever it rains he leaves to look for a drier location.
That’s an attractive little truck in a great color.
Home on wheels which is also Reliable and cheap and easy to repair.i wonder if he can attract any Chicks with his wheels,Down here most girls are Gold-diggers and you don’t get many green lights if your car is old.
Fool them good. Rent a luxury car for a few dates.
Well, the truck IS gold-colored…
Do you really need to get involved with that much of a ‘material girl’? I’d think life would be a lot happier if she’s comfortable with an old pickup and a homemade camper.
