I have seen these guys around for years. They sell “fresh” fish in seemingly random locations from their bus. But today I caught a rare glimpse of the machine off duty. as I was taking a picture a guy drove by and said “that guy is sure a weird one”. I have never met him (the owner) but did he really need to tell me that?
CC Outtake: What a Long Strange Fish It’s Been

Even without the porch added on the back, that seems like an exceptionally long school bus.
That’s a Thomas body on a GMC chassis; probably from the mid 1970s given the details. GM retained the 1967-style front end on school bus chassis for around a decade after the rest of their truck lineup was redesigned in 1973.
As for length, it looks like a typical 66-passenger school bus to me.
I love to see old busses put to use as retail establishments. I was visiting friends in eastern Tennessee once over the Fourth of July. We went to buy some fireworks. We found some people in an old converted school bus crammed full of fireworks for sale. As we were leaving, I noticed the ashtray full of butts on the dash inside of the bus full of fireworks. We got out of there as fast as we could.
It would be right at home on the Playa out at Black Rock. Of course it would need the usual Bruner upgrades of a porch on the roof, 300ft of light rope and a boomin’ stereo pumpin out the Techno.
That guy comes through our area up here in Olympia WA too. Your information that he is a weirdo is correct. I know some folks that have had dealings with him and he is an odd duck for sure. Interesting bus though…
We went to a local Studebaker Drivers Club meet in Moline last year, and there was a vendor selling Studebaker stuff out of an old school bus. He had an awning over the side with aisles, and the inside was full of parts and trim too. I bought a 1/87 scale GT Hawk from him!
