Golf carts are everywhere at the Mecum Spring Classic, shuttling people all over the sprawling Indiana State Fairgrounds. This one certainly wasn’t souped up by the famous Don Yenko Chevrolet, despite the tape stripes to the contrary. Every year you can find any number of Yenko Camaros and Novas at the auction. This year I even spotted a Yenko Corvair Stinger. I think I’ve seen more Yenkos at this auction than Yenko actually produced.
Then where are the pictures of the Stinger or are you afraid of Paul drooling so much it shorts out his computer and brings the entire site down in the process?
Why, they’re right here!

The dealership is now Sun Chevrolet on US 19 in McMurray. I did a live radio broadcast there in 2000-2001, and Yenko newspaper ads were posted on the wall all over their office. Don Yenko’s family was selling Hondas just down the road…so for years “Yenko” license plate frames were seen on Hondas all over Western PA. A few years ago, they sold off the Honda dealership, I think it’s known now as South Hills Honda.
Yenko’s original location in Canonsburg still stands. It’s a nondescript used car lot and repair shop now.
