Here’s a two-fer of a couple of elderly Dodges in front of a mural that has been there for quite a few years, but gets updated on a regular basis. That’s a Mitsubishi-built D50 pickup followed by a 1980ish Dodge conversion van.
Here’s a closer look at the mural, if you like.
My late father in law had one of these D50’s, it was weird in some ways but took a lot of abuse from him and kept on running .
I like murals .

I saw a twin to that D50 just yesterday. Well, almost twin, it was blue. Unfortunately it was on a trailer awaiting the pearly chainlink gates of the junkyard to open for it. Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned it, bit of a downer….but this in Eugene one survives!
And I think that’s my favorite generation of Ram Van. The front looks chunky, purposeful, and strong, unlike the frightened puppy look of the round-eyed 70’s models.
I wonder what the car is in the mural. It gives off a strong Mustang vibe but it looks to be a four door….
Looks like a late 70s Rabbit to me.
Ah yes, perhaps! I was looking at the light area under the rear window and seeing a horizontal plane but now it looks more like the metal part of the Rabbit hatch…
Maybe a pre Cummins turbodiesel?
I walk by that Dodge truck almost every day. It’s still there, and looks to be in good shape.
