Well… I mean it’s possible that this one doesn’t have a CVT; manuals were available, if rarely purchased. But then it would need a clutch every other month. Sometimes people do what they feel has to be done without looking at long-term consequences.
Some folks actually know how to drive manuals not many I know, some of these Cube had regular automatics we found one last year for someone @ 2k, CVT versions cant be given away even if they do still drive.
They’re about to head down to meet their friends in Death Valley, where I snapped this a few days ago. Unlike the Cube owners, their friends prefer to travel light; no trailer for them.
Those car top carriers are so popular around here. I know that people leave them on even when they aren’t using them. Like the off road and rec van folks, it gives an impression that the owners are busy, on the go people. I imagine that they really reduce fuel mileage from the added drag. It seems that they would be hard to load, and with my bad back, I’d pass on that.
Those car top carriers always remind me of Mr. Spock’s coffin . Seriously, I can appreciate the utility but why anyone would willingly leave a Starfleet MkVI torpedo casing on top of their car is beyond me

Neat how the black mold(?) covering the trailer lets it blend in with the Cube…?

Especially using the Prius’s superb automatic HVAC while parked.

Looks like Darth Vader fell on hard times.
Looks like a huge black Marks-a-Lot was used on the trailer
On their way to Burning Man???
