Another in my continuing series of little cars with big trailers. This is a Prius Prime, and it’s getting juiced up so it can haul the trailer on pure electric drive; maybe not for very long though.
Driveway Outtake: Prius Prime With Big Trailer – Plugged In For Extra Towing Power
– Posted on April 4, 2021
You’re misinterpreting the picture. The big battery is IN the trailer and the plug is connected to it. 🙂 #Nevergonnastopagain
That ought to be fun under hard braking!
My money says this was supposed to run on April 1, but got hung up in “The Cloud.” The trailer isn’t really attached to the car. 😉
Happy Easter, everyone!
For towing torque is what you want asnd electric has that in spades regenerative braking on downhill grades would be helped by the weight pushing I guess but I’d rather have diesel power for towing.
I had my Brother-in-laws 30 Foot Camper Trailer back in to the back of my Driveway. I would back my 1994 Ford Tempo in, just in front of it. Several people thought I towed the Camper with it!
At first I thought the Prius had accident damage front right. But no, it is a styling “enhancement”.
Are there people who actually like these styling gimmicks?
The Prius Prime is so aggressively overstyled it ALMOST, ALMOST, looks halfway decent.
But don’t worry, this could be the last gasp of the Prius (or maybe not) since nearly every other Toyota car sold in the U.S. is now available as a hybrid. The Tacoma and Tundra are still gas only as well as the BRZ/FRS LMNOP….or whatever they are called.
