Porsche 944s are getting a bit scarce around here these days, so I was cheered by seeing one pull into this gas station from a ways off. I did notice something was a bit off with its paint job. As I got closer it became obvious that it was wearing strings of Christmas lights. Too bad it was daytime.
This makes a fine CC Christmas car(d) so I’ll use this opportunity to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. May you treasure your time with your family and loved ones.
Here’s a closer look. I hope that tape comes off ok. Probably so. This 944 is in really nice shape.
I really like seeing a nicely cared for older car in the hands of a young owner like this.
I’ll have to use my imagination as to how it looks in the dark.

To you and the Niedermeyer crew as well!
Pontiac’s Big Chief is jealous. Hundreds of colored lights are much better Entertainment than one orange light!

And to you as well! I nicely preserved classic can give its owner a glow. Good to see that this owner has reversed things and given the glow to his car. 😛
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours as well!
(We may wonder how the Porsche looks at night, but it’s easier to imagine how it sounds with those lights clickity-clicking down the road at anything above parade speed. 🙂 )
This sort of thing has been going on for many years, and every year there are a few reports of Scrooge-y law enforcement officers issuing tickets for violating the vehicle lighting laws of their particular jurisdiction. Most places have laws regarding red and/or blue light placement, in order that individuals may not use lights that might misrepresent the vehicle as a police/emergency vehicle. That’s reasonable.
But no driver is going to confuse a Porsche with twinkle lights for an ambulance, so the idea of ticketing the owner of a car with Christmas lights is kind of ridiculous.
I was out other night around Marlboro, New Jersey, and saw a new model Porsche 911 with Christmas lights covered the whole car. It is kind of weird and nice at the same time to see in the dark road. I wonder if I saw one of those infamous Jersey drones running on road.
Then I saw another one covered with Christmas lights, that vehicle was a modified C class Mercedes. Is it a popular Christmas item for this holiday season?
He might have gotten those lights from Temu as I recognize the way they look courtesy my wife who likes them. Plug in, USB, or solar.
