Cool picture! Reminds me of my dad’s ’69 Impala Custom Coupe. It had a 350 with Powerglide, power steering and AM radio as the only options. No vinyl top.
The rims and lowered stand isn’t my cup of tea, but I wouldn’t kick this one out of my driveway if the tires don’t rub the wheel wells.
I was not a fan at the time when Chevy went to in-bumper tail lights, but this looks nice. It helps that it’s a two-door; two-door full size Chevy’s always looked so much better to me than the four-door versions.
As previously noted, the oversize wheels and tires do nothing for this car stylistically.
My college art professor had a 69 and a 71, one of which was filmed driving around Bonneville with lights on the roof in the early 80s. As Detroit barges go, these are handsome and can be made to move.
This car cries out for less cartoonish wheels, lowering a bit is fine but the wheels need to smaller and the sidewalls taller.
I agree with what you say about the wheels and tires. Just looks wrong for this car. I would also add that straight out the back exhaust, such as this here, has always looked cartoonish to me. They almost always detract from the look of the rear end of the car.
I like the rims, but then car designers always like big wheels and tires…..
each to his/her own. My own 50 year old classic will be running some bigger wheels this Summer complimented by some subtle lowering – just because I like it.

It had always been a striking coupe design.
Not unattractive, but definitely unconventional.
Good to see one around.
Nice find! But I would prefer a 69 with a 427 and 4 speed.
It’s a pretty car .
Remember : the silly wheels are due to the owner not being a real ‘car guy’, he just wants approval from others….

…or maybe he or she likes them?
I am guessing he likes them. But why? Not only are they ugly, don’t they ruin the ride?
Just a very nice car.
