This is a combination that I’ve never seen before: a vintage Eldorado with custom wheels, paint and exhaust sporting three bikes hanging off the back. It’s just not the kind of car I’ve ever associated with bike racks. But maybe I need to stop being so close-minded. Hey, it’s Eugene; we embrace automotive diversity.
Are those bikes made of lead? It seems this Eldo is sitting mighty low in the back.
Now if this were a 1995 Corolla, I wouldn’t have stopped.
Leaking rear air suspension hopefully will pump up when car is started.
I used to camp in my Festiva. All four seat backs folded flat. I put an air mattress across them. The rear side windows opened and I had mosquito netting over the opening. I crawled through the hatch after chocking the wheels for safety, just in case. The trunk held all my belongings. It kept me safe in the desert, off the ground and away from crawling desert creatures.
Human ingenuity, a limited budget, and a young man’s need to get away, can make any vehicle a remarkable adventure. I love seeing this Eldorado being used this way!
Looks like a ‘donk’ that got re-poed, guy with bikes picks up for a really good price….
Love Eugene!
The front of this Eldorado seems to have the standard grille-mounted Cadillac wreath, plus a hood ornament (which I think didn’t come from the factory, but many dealers put them on), and then a third gold badge that also looks like a Cadillac wreath.
I doubt the extra wreaths were added to this car in recent times, but it always irked me to see these Cadillacs with both the hood ornament and the grille badge, just inches apart. Either one would look OK in my opinion, but both – in such close proximity – was bothersome to me.
Dat red stripe, tho.
Perhaps the owner is Jamaican, mon.
A bit shocking to hear you call it a “vintage” Eldorado. It’s one of the last series, though, hard to believe it’s 25yrs old.
