In Eugene’s Whiteaker’s neighborhood, encountering oddities on the street (or sidewalk) is a given. From a distance, I though: aha! a DayGlo neo-hippie van! But as I got closer, the message was clearly religious in nature. Whatever; sure brightens up a gray day.
I wasn’t going to try to make out exactly what the message that this traveling apostle was preaching, but I like the technique.
Did he use cans of GoodStuff, or spend $40 on a foam gun. I have; and I love it (for construction purposes). Works even after sitting for many months. I’ve been converted.
Wow.
One of the ‘advantages’ of expanding foam insulation, is that it takes on an orange patina when exposed to UV light. So, it may not have been necessary to paint some of those flowers. I could see folks using the exterior of this van as a place to deposit their expired chewing gum. If this Dodge ever caught fire, they’d have to evacuate several city blocks, due to noxious fumes and black smoke I’m sure.
It may be Norman Greenbaum’s original tour bus…
Drug-Tradesman van?
“Spirit In Disguise”!!
Peace, Love, Curbside Classic?
Perhaps it’s a post-modernist statement on hiding the decaying fabric of the past under an artificially bright and bouncy facade of the present? Or a subtle twist update on the Hansel and Gretel fable? Not really my cup of hemlock, but to each their own!
As with certain televangelists, the noise to signal ratio seems quite high here – it is hard to make out the message. I am mainly getting sensory overload out of it.
There is an older Dodge van in my area that has been covered with black indoor/outdoor grass carpet. I don’t see it much anymore, and have never been able to get a picture. I wlll keep looking. – check that, someone has gotten at least one picture.
A tribute to Pink Floyd’s landmark album…
Oh yeah!
I don’t know which sounds creepier the $.10 a feel or the obligatory free candy.
I can go along with his message I think but am used to hearing it delivered in a different and more understandable fashion. Problem is that my eyes hurt now and I don’t think I can un-see this van.
