I’m reminded that I actually bought one of those red “16-valve” trim pieces that used to be seen on some VW models to put on my Dodge pickup, but never did actually install it.
I thought about modifying the “TITAN” emblem since each letter is by itself. Lots of possibilities. I could get a ’32 Valve’ emblem and would not be lying.
Reminds me of the Mercedes KOMPRESSOR badge that I bought off eBay as a gift for a friend, who put it in the same position on the tailgate of his bare-bones beater VW Golf. We had joked for years about the KOMPRESSOR (always shouted in a German accent) before I got him the badge that he had mentioned wanting to put on a totally inappropriate car.
They obviously missed the availability of the special backup lens repair kit from Volvo for $50 that includes a new lens and a tube of special glue. I had to buy a couple of those back in my brick driving days to pass inspection…

I’m assuming it’s a V8? 🙂
Unless a 3-valve 6 cylinder where two of the cylinders missed out on the extra valve!
Yes it is, a 74 Newport 400 4-barrel.
Gotta love those substantial chromed liftgate release/pull handles Volvo put on their 240s before ’86.
Like the robust bumper 🙂

“NATTI”?

A Volvo I might actually want….
The little-known predecessor of the V70R?
On a related note, it’s a shame Volvo never made an AWD variant of the 240.
Not bad, but I’d rather have a SAAB 9000 SS 454…
At least it’s not an STi.
Reminds me of people slapping Auto Zone bought ‘R-type’ or ‘Vtech’ emblems on just any kind of (ricer) car. Ive seen both on a Sable before.
What irks me is when I see bumblebee stripes on something like a ford ranger. That’s a Mopar styling quirk…looks dumb on anything else.
Must have been related to the Grand Marquis GT-R I spotted once.
It was probably a P71 Interceptor, too!
If you’ll excuse me, I’m off to drive my Saturn L2000 LTZ Turbocharged Rallye Grand Brougham estate.
With all those badges, it has about 600 BHP, and heated leather seating! Oh, yeah!
Could have been worse…like a counterfeit “Type R” badge.
Or how about a Ford “Police Interceptor” badge?
Like this? Seen while waiting to turn onto the Eastern Freeway at Bulleen in Melbourne.
The Volvo surpasses a WRX in the 0-250,000 mile test.

Cute ! .
*Much* better than those crappo chromed plastic ‘ TURBO ‘ badges everyone slapped onto their battered Tercel etc. in the 1980’s .
