I don’t know what I’d do without the Cohort. Some days, inspiration is as soggy as the weather this morning. But then I head over to the CCC and see what’s new: Bingo! Something my cynical old eyes have never seen before: a splendid four door Capriceamino, with a Brougham-tastic half vinyl top and what appears to be a coach light on the rear door. Actually, closer inspection shows that the light isn’t mounted yet; presumably a work in progress. All it needs now is a Cadillac front clip. And the sun just popped out!
Thank you newslynneorange, who says it was shot in Charlottesville, VA.
Love it, but those RWL tires need to be swapped with proper whitewalls.
I also love this shade of green!
“Would you like to hear about my Caprice-amino?” Oh, my yes!
Brilliant!
That could haul my kids and pull my little camper. I’ll take two! It’s only missing the Roadmaster alloys and woodgrain.
Carmine, your Broughamaster truck has finally come in!
Why is the creator not head of design at GM?
Needs a couple of those bed-mounted seats from a first-generation Subaru BRAT.
Actually, might not need to — given this looks to have been made from a wagon, wonder if it still has the wagon third seat.
Nah, it’s not subject to the chicken tax.
But it is subject to the requirement that if you’re gonna take a vehicle and make it redneck, why not go all the way.
Take my money!
This would fix my problem of needing a truck for garden center/home improvement excursions, and my need for a sedan the rest of the time. (Octogenarian mother can’t climb into a 4 door truck.)
And I second the color as awesome.
And for whitewalls.
You’ve just precisely outlined why my mom bought a Subaru Baja.
This thing needs a set of mag wheels…stat!
Yeah ok I’ll take it to give my Minx a break from hauling stuff.
I like the vehicle a lot better than the name you gave it. Nevermind, I like the vehicle no matter what you call it. Someone needs to be making this. It’s bound to make more sense than a lot of the four door trucks. I think some of them give you nosebleeds from the altitude.
“It’s bound to make more sense than a lot of the four door trucks.”
This is actually a prototype of the Chevy Avalanche. 🙂
Oy, I never realized how far forward the rear axle is on that generation of Caprice wagon. Looks like it needs to be moved back a foot to be a proper pickup.
Ha it is kind of funny looking now that you mention it!
Squinting at the picture, this Caprice wagon looks to be a ’94. The unique combination of the small mirrors and the dual air bag dash is a dead give away. Under that green hood lurks an LT1.
Brilliant! I’ll take two. That should last me the rest of my lifetime… 😉
It’s different. I’d be interested in seeing more photos especially of the cargo “box” and the rear of the “cab”. Looks to be more like a Caprice version of an Avalanche than an El Camino. Although, it would be neat if someone made a 2 door El Camino version from one of these wagons. I remember years ago seeing someone make a 2 door version of an early 90’s Caprice, so maybe a 2-door El Camino could be made.
In the end, I’d prefer the stock wagon, di-noc free. It just looks a little too goofy for me.
No Broughmo, but I am really digging this Caprice Crew Cab!
I like it, I’d love it with Buick nose job, a drop and some American Racing Torque Thrust wheels and I’d love it.
Love it too. This era Caprice has really grown on me. Spacious, smooth ride and looked pretty cool. Rather have that than a Silverado. What happened to this Caprice. It was all over the place as cop cars, cabs and than they were swallowed up by the Crown Vics. Anyone else watch older episodes of Cops and enjoy seeing these cruising around.?
