At yesterday’s ’56 pink Lincoln post, JPC left this comment: I wonder what Mr. Rubano has in store for us tomorrow? I hope it is something in bright turquoise. Well, not quite, but it is another “bird” (the 2CV was called “Die Ente” in Germany). And it’s almost turquoise.
Cohort Sighting: Citroen 2CV – A Blue Duck In Traffic
– Posted on September 14, 2013
What’s with all of the blue CCs lately?
(TOTALLY NOT a problem, as that’s my favorite!)
Must add driving (but not necessarily owning) a 2CV to my bucket list. Any CC owner-volunteers in Central Ohio?
(Just kidding.) 🙂

James Bond 2CV scene. Are the chase cars Pugs? From whaI’ve learned on CC, wouldn’t mind experiencing one of those on a twisty, either.
Yes, the chase cars were Pugs. IIRC, they modified the 2CV with a larger engine for more power for that scene.
The humble 2CV. Safe, rugged, reliable… And a chick magnet! 😉
Nice find – I saw and photographed a nice Charleston edition of these last weekend. The Charlestons were the two-tone ones.
These were all over the place in Germany (and obviously the rest of Europe) when I was a kid, not as plentiful anymore but you still see them regularly, kind of like old Bugs over here.
Never knew the two-toned model was a Charleston. The things one learns here!
I bought this one in Printemps in Paris around 1987.
Wonder why they named the Broughamy 2CV after a city in South Carolina?
I strongly suspect it was named after the dance “The Charleston”, which was the hot thing in the Roaring Twenties, including in Europe. But the dance did originate in Charleston, SC. The 2CV Charleston’s paint job is meant to evoke cars from the classic era.
Yeah, that’s what I thought. I was just being facetious 🙂
There is a gal here, and may still be around as I’ve not seen it in about a year that I recall that has a 2CV.
Her’s, if I’m not mistaken is a Charleston (two toned), but one of the very last of the bunch, I think she said hers was a ’92 that was brought over to the states by somebody, and she now drives it. it was this similar blue, but with white top.
When I first saw it about 3-4 years ago, she had temporarily taken out the passenger front seat to haul stuff as she’d just moved out. It was fun seeing it, and I have seen it at least once, or twice since then, but not in the past year though that I recall.
I’d take this duck over that bloated flamingo any day!

Evidently, the shape of it does have it’s drawbacks.
The fact that the photograph was taken across from a “French Cleaners” was a nice touch.
2CV – the blue bird of funkiness.
I approve. 🙂
Ah the 2CV, something to make you appreciate the high tech and sophistication of the Beetle, just kidding, but no, I’m not, I still like the 2CV though, simple solutions.
There is one of these roaming these parts a Charleston in cream and maroon I’ll shoot it if I see it live again
