I just finished posting that old Chevy school bus-van, when I ran across this posted at the Cohort by robadr. Is this to entice kids to go to school? I’ll also show you one a bit more spartan from 1935.
I’m guessing it’s for a private school, as it’s a bit hard to imagine a public school (if there is such a thing) in Laos spending the bucks to decorate a van this extensively.
That van reminded me of this great picture I found at Shorpy some time back: a “school bus” from 1935. The good old days…
It might be sponsored by whatever company makes that Pikachuesque character. Sort of like the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile but with more public utility.
I think the spelling should be “Laotian”?
I think so too. 🙂
Heh.
LOL, indeed!
Maybe a truly Nolan vehicle now that bugs are pretty much aged our. Btw I hate phone autocorrect.
I can’t help but wonder how a drunk would react to seeing this pass by. “AUUUUUGH! IT’SH GOIN’ TA KILL ME!”
It’s kind of like the Nekobasu from ” My Neighbour Totoro”.
Downright frightening! Kids, this is a perfect example of when to keep a 100 yard distance, especially if its piloted by a guy that even looks creepy.
that’s a cool picture of 1935, at least 3 of the boys are barefooted and it has to be somewhere in the south and late fall, that’s a cotton field to the right back and it has been picked.
School bus for bullies.
The old pic reminds me of how we had been transported at the army… Good ol’ days…
