This shot posted by williamrubano one is a bit of a head-scratcher. It’s a kit car of some sorts, but not one that just was ordered and arrived by freight. The mold for the front end is sitting on top of its mirror image, so it seems to be a one-off. Somebody was ambitious, at one point. And it has genuine C4 wheels. Maybe he got the wheels cheap, and decided that was impetus enough to build his own ‘Vette, including original molds. How many dreams end up like this?
Cohort Sighting: The Unfinished Dream, Or Nightmare
– Posted on August 15, 2013
Looks like the unholy union of a ‘Vette, a Panamera and perhaps a Pacer. Yikes.
What has been seen cannot be unseen…
Any more clues to what it is and what it’s ingredients are?
I have had dreams like this, usually after a night of Taco Bell, Pinch and Peyote……..
Looks like a C4 wet dream that seems to have gone unfulfilled. Taco Bell, Pinch and Peyote? I’d guess cheap beer and a bit of bud. Maybe some White Castle.
I think CFClark called it early. Short wheelbase and that tumblehome says Pacer. So does that AMC door handle. Pacer ZR-1? 🙂
Those are not Pacer door pulls – Pacer ones pivot on a vertical axis, not a horizontal one as shown.
And the AMC wheel pattern is the same as similar-vintage Mopar and early (pre-1973) Ford car, meaning that stock C4 wheels wouldn’t bolt up.
My brother still has a few Pacers – I helped him stuff a 400SBC/T400 into one back in the late 1980s. It was a real sleeper!
And we wrongly thought the Pacer couldn’t be made uglier.
That might be Speedy cop’s next car for LeMons
Paul go back and take all that crap off of it, we want to see more of this thing
+1 I really want to know what it was, leaving us like this is like ripping the last page out of a thriller
Paul didn’t take this photo. He grabbed it from the “CC cohort” group on flickr. We would need to get more info from the person that uploaded it there.
So let’s hunt down williamrubano
We need more info on this thing
I think they should pile more crap over it, until its never seen again
That’s option # 2
. . . until uncovered on a future episode of Hoarders.
He posted another photo to the flickr group.
You cna see larger versions of the original HERE, and a larger of the second shot HERE.
Looks like a badly rebodied Corvette judging by the roll bar and rear glass.
It’s grimly fascinating in the same way people gawk at accidents or fights.
looks like an overgrown EV-1
Ugh. What a waste of a C4.
Yes, I like C4s.
One time I saw a newish 8-10 year old vette that had a body that was just trash. Faded paint, crazed/cracked/broken fiberglass, you name it. And it was cheap, like $3500-4500 cheap. I would be willing to bet that is what the one in this story was before the owner got to work on it. Really you have to give the owner credit for the love and enthusiasm to keep the car from being destroyed.
