Chris Muller just posted this at the Cohort, and it’s certainly the first time I’ve seen a Quantumino. Quite nicely done too. We have yet to do a CC on the Quantum (Passat B2), although we did have a COAL on one.
Cohort Sighting: VW Quantumino

Fascinating. That 1959-60 GM flying-wing roof turned out to be quite influential.
Wha…? VW Guantanamo?
These cars have a robust, utilitarian appeal to them; this is actually more appropriate of a conversion than many may think at first.
I can think of no better fate for an old water cooled VW. Kid I knew in Panama had a pickup made from an air cooled 40 horse. No weight, very quick. I’m sure, though, that this vehicle is more functional.
Looks like a JPCavanaugh photoshop special. Unfortunate name.
FWIW, the headline was a typo. Is Quantumino better?
D’oh, it just clicked. Still on my first coffee.
I did about a quadruple-take when I saw this one and had to do an illegal u-turn to get the photo–but nobody would have believed me otherwise!
If you look closely, it’s converted from a sedan rather than a wagon, which is interesting. Very clean conversion though! I wonder if it’s a Syncro?
Great pic!
As conversions go, nice looking conversion. It’s too bad you couldn’t get more pics of the car, or even talk to the owner about the car.
Looks half finished the roof hasnt been tidied up yet.
…bit like a taiwanese ‘boat’ with wheels at the corners…lol
Better looking than the real thing.
Since it’s related to the Caddy, I will call it a Quaddy.
Yes! That’s hilarious.
