I’m trying to remember from the “Fast and Loud” episode from when they built a Ford Futura drift car… they chromed it like this but I can’t recall if it was an actual paint job or a vinyl wrap…
The “Fast and Loud” drift car was a wrap. As you may recall, the surface was not pure chrome but sported a large Gas Monkey logo on the hood.
This Mercedes may be chromed and not gilded, but qualifies as “gilding the lily” just the same. Why not just do it silver metallic paint? The wires and the whitewalls are already all the dressing-up a car as pretty as the 300 SEL could ever require. Being able to see your face in the fender is overkill, and strictly for egomaniacs.
Okay, usually I hate this sort if thing. But going against all my natural instincts, I have to say it actually works pretty well on that Merc. The wheels and the underlying shape help. It looks like a sculpture. Guess I’m in a class of one then… 😉
It looks like Mercury
I’ve nothing against these chromosexuals,I just don’t like it being displayed in public.
OK, Gem gets the prize for being the first to use the term “chromosexual(s) in a full sentence, if at all. We are so much richer for her perspicacity.
that is so wrong on so many levels.
+1 pots of money and good taste rarely go together.

This one is a wrap as well. Thanks, Paul.
If I live to be 100 I will never truly understand people’s need to be seen.
+1
In Australia too. I can’t say I hate the look … but would I have it? Maybe.

For as little as $99.00 per week. What a deal…
